Start a New Holiday Tradition: The Feast of the Seven Fishes

Spend Christmas Eve celebrating the Italian way

In southern regions of Italy, the Feast of the Seven Fishes has long been the customary Christmas Eve meal, and over time it has (luckily) become popular in the U.S., too. Also known as “The Vigil,” the origin of this tradition is widely debated. Some families say that the feast must have 7 different courses with 7 different fish, others will incorporate as many fish into one pasta as possible, and some insist on serving 12 courses symbolizing the 12 apostles. The one thing on which we can all agree is that the Feast of the Seven Fishes is delicious, especially at Lettuce restaurants that have adopted this tradition.

Check out these Feast of Seven Fishes celebrations available at Lettuce Entertain You restaurant locations on Tuesday, December 24. Buon Natale!
