Gus’ Sip & Dip Now Open in Chicago’s River North
The latest concept from award-winning Beverage Director Kevin Beary and Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants brings a classic tavern-style experience to Chicago
Gus’ Sip & Dip, a classic neighborhood bar from Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants, has officially opened in Chicago’s River North at 51 W Hubbard St. Honoring Gus’ Good Food, which stood in the same spot from 1906 to 1966, Gus’ Sip & Dip Partner Kevin Beary and Bar Manager Scott Kitsmiller have modernized iconic cocktails, ensuring each is the finest version of itself. Guests can enjoy these expertly crafted drinks at an approachable price, paired with timeless tavern favorites.
“My goal is to inspire the next generation of cocktail drinkers by making classic drinks approachable and exciting,” says Beverage Director Kevin Beary. “Cocktails are more than just drinks—they’re an experience, a story, and a way to connect with others. At Gus’ Sip & Dip, we’re crafting drinks that celebrate tradition while inviting new enthusiasts to explore and enjoy the artistry of mixology, without any pretension.”
The beverage menu features 30 expertly reimagined classic cocktails, each priced at $12, plus tax. Guests can indulge in the Breakfast Martini, featuring London dry gin, orange liqueur, Earl Grey tea, and marmalade, served with a slice of honey butter toast. Or, savor the Irish Coffee, made with Irish whiskey, Metric coffee, cane sugar, and hand-shaken cream. Guests can also experience a rotating Happy Hour, Monday – Friday from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM, offering a different Drink of the Day for $6.
Gus’ timeless, tavern-style barroom welcomes guests to enjoy these delicious drinks paired with addictive, elevated bar food from Chef Partner Bob Broskey (RPM Restaurants). With a fresh take on classic tavern fare, guests can enjoy dishes like French Dip sandwiches, Artichoke Fritters, Ice Cold Shrimp Cocktail, a pub burger, Wagyu Steak Frites, and more. The kitchen stays open late, offering a complete dining experience well into the evening.
Gus’ Sip & Dip is available for walk-ins only and is first-come, first-served (reservations are not available). The kitchen and bar is open Sunday – Thursday from 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM and Friday – Saturday from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM.
