SUSHI-SAN ROLLS INTO THE LINCOLN PARK NEIGHBORHOOD
Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants’ Beloved Sushi Spot Opens Tomorrow, May 2, Serving Signature San Favorites, Sake By-the-Glass and More
The third location of Sushi-san (1950 N. Halsted St.) from Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants opens tomorrow in Chicago’s Lincoln Park. Joining the River North flagship and the grab-and-go and hand roll bar in the Catalog in Willis Tower, this new location will serve up the freshest fish and one of the most robust sake-by-the-glass lists in the Windy City, all set to the tune of golden-era hip-hop. Open for dinner for dine-in, carryout, and delivery seven days a week, the menu, from Master Sushi Chef Kaze Chan, will feature signature maki, hand rolls, San-Sets, nigiri, Signature Sashimi, Sizzling Rice, noodles, robata-grilled dishes, and more.
“It’s been exciting to watch Sushi-san become a River North staple over the years,” says Amarit Dulyapaibul, Managing Partner, Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants. “Lincoln Park will always be a special place for Lettuce Entertain You. Our restaurants have welcomed guests in this community for more than 50 years, and we look forward to seeing Sushi-san become a part of the fabric of the neighborhood here as well.”
MENU REMIX
Sushi-san Lincoln Park’s menu will offer OG favorites, including more than a dozen maki like Spicy Tuna, Salmon & Avocado, Bluefin Tuna & Avocado and Truffle Shiitake, with the option for guests to “hold the rice” and substitute with a cucumber wrapper for any of the rolls. Lettuce’s newest addition to its San family of restaurants will have the same dedication to sourcing the best possible ingredients, highlighting sustainably sourced Balfego Bluefin Tuna from Spain, available in two-piece orders ranging from lean to fatty, or as a Mr. Maguro 10-Piece San-Set that includes one roll, tuna loin, chu-toro and otoro. Made-to-order nigiri and signature San-Sets will also be at the core of the menu, along with day-one starters like the Tako Taco. Sizzling Rice bowls such as the Beef N’ Bop and Lobster Kimchi, along with robata-grilled items including the Vietnamese Pork, are available for guests seeking non-sushi items.
New to the Lincoln Park location are appetizers including Chilled Soba Noodles with chili garlic vinaigrette, a selection of signature sashimi plates like Ginger-Sesame Salmon, featuring Faroe Islands Salmon with fresh ginger and hot scallion oil, and Bluefin Tuna Wafu, finished with dill and Castelvetrano olive. Items such as an Umami Scallop DIY hand roll and a new signature Mentaiko Spaghetti with ohba and kizami nori also grace the new menu.
The restaurant is also introducing Sushi-san’s first-ever dedicated kids menu featuring a Bento Box with kid-friendly options like Chicken Nuggets, Mac ‘n Cheese and Miso Salmon.
For dessert, guests can enjoy Sushi-san’s signature E-Mochi and Japanese Breakfast pancakes topped with matcha butter and black sugar syrup, along with Nama Chocolates.

KANPAI
Guests can sip on a selection from the extensive collection of Japanese whiskies or enjoy a blast-chilled Asahi lager, a Sake Bomb, or creative specialty cocktails from Beverage Director Kevin Beary like the Drip on the Strip, My Neck, My Bok, or Still Tippin’ Old Fashioned. Beary’s handiwork can also be seen in the N.W.A (Nothin’ With Alcohol) section, with spirit-free options like the Don’t Look Down and Glitter Bomb.
Rounding out the beverage menu is an extensive sake by-the-glass program, hand-selected by Certified Sake Professional (aka “Sake Sommelier”) Daniel Bennett. Bennett, a Jean Banchet nominee in 2023 for “Sommelier of the Year,” has cultivated Chicago’s largest list, opening up more than 16 selections available as three- or eight-ounce pours. The menu includes “High & Dry” sake like the house Sake-san junmai ginjo jizake, “Fruit & Floral” options like Sakeone’s Naginata junmai daiginjo, and “Rich & Round” options, including Sohomare’s Tuxedo. Kappu-zake, six-ounce cups, as well as exclusive by-the-bottle selections, are also available.
