Gus’ Sip & Dip‘s Gin Gimlet elevates the classic gimlet with a house-made lime cordial for extra depth and a dash of absinthe for a subtle herbal kick.
Gin Gimlet
Refreshingly tart with a subtle herbal twist
Yield: 1 cocktail
Ingredients:
GIN GIMLET
2 oz. London Dry Gin
2 oz. Lime Cordial, see recipe below
1 Dash Pernod Absinthe
1 lime peel
1 lime wedge
LIME CORDIAL
1 cup fresh lime juice
1 ¼ cup white sugar
Method:
LIME CORDIAL
Blend fresh lime juice and white sugar until fully combined and smooth.
GIN GIMLET
1. In a single old fashioned glass, combine gin, lime cordial, and absinthe. Fill with ice and stir to chill.
2. Express the oils from a lime peel over the drink, then discard the peel.
3. Garnish with a fresh lime wedge.
