Seasoned Rice

Tallboy Taco’s Seasoned Rice is infused with achiote, Tajín, and warm spices and simmered to perfection.
Seasoned Rice
An easy flavorful side dish
Yield: 3 ½ cups
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp. hot water
¼ tsp. achiote paste
1 ½ tsp. garlic oil
1 Tbsp. butter
6 Tbsp. yellow onion, diced
½ tsp. Tajin seasoning
½ tsp. paprika
½ tsp. ground black pepper
1 tsp. salt
1 cup jasmine rice, rinsed
2 ½ cup cold water
Method:
1. In a small bowl, break the achiote paste into small pieces and cover with the hot water.
2. Whisk until dissolved and set aside.
3. In a large pot, heat the garlic oil and butter over medium-high heat.
4. Add in the onion and cook for 3 minutes.
5. Stir in the paprika, black pepper, salt and Tajin.
6. Add the rice, cold water, and achiote/water mixture.
7. Bring to a boil and cover.
8. Once boiling, simmer for 45 min until cooked through and fluffy.
